The Hamlet Craft Tools Stuart Mortimer Gouge is a short detail gouge designed by Stuart Mortimer for removing insides of hollow forms. The specially rounded grind allows shear cutting in hollow forms and the short flute allows deep cutting without vibration, giving better control.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Stuart Mortimer Gouge is available in the below sizes:

  • HCT220 - 11mm Flute Length 3.1/2", Long Grind Nose with 14" handle

The tool has a Hamlet brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
