Round Bar Skew Chisel

The Hamlet Craft Tools Round Bar Skew Chisel is used on spindle work and is an extremely versatile tool, used for planing, cutting beads, V cuts and cleaning end grain. The skew was designed to make skew chisel work easier to perform. Made from round bar, it will slide along the tool rest without catching and will roll easily when producing beads, coves etc.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Round Bar Skew Chisel is available in the below sizes:

  • HCT108 - 3/8" (10mm) with 10" handle
  • HCT109 - 1/2" (13mm) with 10" handle

The tool has a Hamlet brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
