Hamlet Craft Tools M42 Masterflute Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools M42 Masterflute Gouge is made from M42 High-Speed Steel, which is hardened and triple-tempered to enhance both performance and wear resistance, ensuring it stays sharper for a longer duration. This allows you to spend less time sharpening and more time turning. The gouge comes pre-sharpened and ready to use. The Masterflute Gouge features a parabolic 'masterflute' profile with a fingernail grind. The parabolic shape allows large cuts to be made when the tool is turned to one side and shallower cuts when the cut is produced from the bottom of the flute giving more versatility with one tool.

This fine turning tool, featuring an M42 High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and triple-tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools M42 Masterflute Gouge is available in the below sizes:

• M42150B - 1/4" (6mm) with 14" handle - 3/8" Bar Stock
• M42150 - 3/8" (10mm) with 16" handle - 1/2" Bar Stock
• M42151 - 1/2" (13mm) with 16" handle - 5/8" Bar Stock

The tool has a Hamlet M42 brand ergonomic handle crafted from ash and features a red powder-coated solid brass ferrule.
