Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas M42 Spindle Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas M42 Spindle Gouge was designed to Glenn's specifications as a versatile general purpose gouge that’s ideal for detailed spindle turning and box making The gouge has a double bevel grind for faster, cleaner cutting and a masterflute parabolic profile (the only flute profile on the Glenn Lucas gouges) for easier sharpening and improved chip clearance.

This fine turning tool, featuring an M42 High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today. M42 Stay Sharp tools set a new standard for quality and performance in woodturning tools. Unlike other types of high speed/PM tool steel that sacrifice extreme edge retention for the ability to be honed to a keen edge, or vice versa, M42 Stay Sharp tools provide both for optimum performance you can count on.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and triple-tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

• M42GL8 - 3/8" (10mm) with 10" handle

The tool has a Hamlet Glenn Lucas brand ash handle and features a solid brass ferrule.
