The Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas M42 Double Ended Bowl Gouge/Spindle Gouge was designed to Glenn's specifications to provide two gouges in a single tool that will fit the MH12 Multi Handle System:

The M42GL5 3/8" Finishing Bowl Gouge (1/2" Bar Stock) is designed for making fine finishing cuts on the inside and outside of bowls and platters. The swept back grind with 45 degree double bevel makes push cuts and dragging shear cuts a breeze while leaving an exceptionally fine surface.

The M42GL7 1/2" Spindle Gouge is supplied with a long point and swept back grind that allows you to make fine detail cuts and access hard to reach areas on all types of work including shallow bowls, boxes, pens and other small projects. It’s also perfect for cutting small detail and decorative lines on larger bowls and platters.

This fine turning tool, featuring an M42 High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today. M42 Stay Sharp tools set a new standard for quality and performance in woodturning tools. Unlike other types of high speed/PM tool steel that sacrifice extreme edge retention for the ability to be honed to a keen edge, or vice versa, M42 Stay Sharp tools provide both for optimum performance you can count on.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and triple-tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The tool has a Glenn Lucas signature brand marked on the front and an M42 brand marked on the back. The M42GL5 flute length is approx. 7 1/2" and the M42GL7 flute length is approx. 5".
