Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas Double Ended Bowl Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas Double Ended Bowl Gouge was designed to Glenn's specifications to provide two gouges in a single tool that will fit the MH58 or MH58L Multi Handle System:

The GL4 1/2" Masterflute Bowl Gouge (5/8" Bar Stock) is used by Glenn primarily for the initial shaping of dry bowl blanks, It has a 55 degree double bevel signature grind for fast wood removal and a fine finish. The bevel also helps you maintain critical bevel contact when reaching down inside a bowl. This gouge is highly recommended by Glenn for use as a general purpose bowl gouge. 

The GL6 1/2" Bottom Finishing Bowl Gouge (5/8" Bar Stock) is designed specifically for making bottoming cuts on bowls, and cutting high figured and end grain wood. The square-end profile with double bevel grind produces an exceptionally clean cut with little or no tear-out.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

• GL4/6 - 1/2" (13mm) - 5/8" Bar Stock

The tool has a Glenn Lucas signature brand marked on the front. The GL4 flute length is approx. 8" and the GL6 flute length is approx. 5 1/4".
