The Hamlet Craft Tools Diamond Parting Tool is specifically designed to separate (part) timber into two pieces, and is also predominantly used to make sizing cuts. This diamond section tool is slightly wider down the centre of the blade. Unlike the traditional rectangular parting tool, only the opposing wider points touch the wood as the cut proceeds into the workpiece, which reduces friction and heat build up.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Diamond Parting Tool is available in the below sizes:

  • HCT092 - 3/16" with 10" handle

The tool has a Hamlet brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
