Detail Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools Detail Gouge is perfect for very fine point work, particularly between spindles. It is used mainly in spindle work for cutting beads and coves or for shaping of weed pots, finger tops, or boxes etc.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Detail Gouge is available in the below sizes:

  • HCT153 - 3/8" (10mm) with 10" handle
  • HCT154 - 1/2" (13mm) with 10" handle

The tool has a Hamlet brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
