Diamic Heavy Duty Socket Firmer Chisel

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Heavy Duty Socket Firmer Chisel has a thicker and longer blade than the bevel edge model for added strength and durability; making it an ideal tool for timber framers. The chisel blade is thicker than most firmer chisel blades, tapering from 9mm to 6mm approx. 

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Heavy Duty Socket Firmer Chisel is available in the below sizes:

• F45 - 3/4" (20mm)
• F46 - 1" (25mm)
  
• F47 - 1 1/2" (38mm)
• F48 - 2" (50mm)

The chisel has a hardwood handle and a steel hoop fitted to the striking end of handle to resist splitting.

Blade Length: 7.5" approx.

Handle Length: 4.5" approx.

The tools may require a final honing before use to suit the users individual needs (as will regularly need to be done through the use of the tools).

These tools are hand forged using traditional techniques and, as such, are not precision made. The neck/shoulders may have imperfections but this will not affect the blade cutting face/working area.
