Thin Parting Tool

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Thin Parting Tool is an essential part of a turners kit. The 1/16” thin parting tool is the thinnest standard parting tool currently available and ensures minimal waste is produced when detaching pieces from the main body of wood.  

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Thin Parting Tool is available in the below sizes:

  • HS167 - 1/2" x 1/16" with 7" handle
  • HS168 - 1" x 1/16" with 10" handle
  • HS169 - 1 1/2" x 1/16" with 11.5" handle

The tool has a Henry Taylor Diamic brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
