Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Ray Key Spindle Gouge

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Ray Key Spindle Gouge is a purpose-oriented tool developed in cooperation with Ray, drawing on his many years of experience in creating superior boxes, bowls and platters. The gouge is sharpened with a steep angle to allow for hollowing end grain boxes. The tool allows a slicing cut to give the best possible cut. The long edge of the gouge can also be used for shear scraping. 

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Ray Key Spindle Gouge is available in the below sizes:

• HS106 - 1/2" with 10" handle

The tool has a Henry Taylor Diamic brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
