Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Raffan Refining Scraper

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Raffan Refining Scraper was designed by Richard Raffan himself, one of the world's foremost authorities on this craft. This tool is produced from heavy section material, making it safe to use as the thick material does not flex, thus reducing the chance of catches. The curved cutting edge is also less prone to catches and so enhances the versatility and controlled performance of the tool. Richard uses this tool to achieve the perfect shape and to clean up that difficult end grain on bowls. The edge has a gentle curve to it for making shear cuts as well as shaping cuts. 

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

• HS67 - 1 3/8" x 3/8" with 11.5" handle

The tool has a Henry Taylor Diamic brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
