Forged Bar Spindle Gouge

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Forged Bar Spindle Gouge is used for detailed shaping between centres on parallel grain, particularly for concave curves. This spindle gouge can be used to create beads, coves and other profiles on vases, goblets, candle sticks and more shaped work.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Forged Bar Spindle Gouge is available in the below sizes:

  • HS54 - 1/2" (13mm) with 10" handle
  • HS41 - 3/4" (20mm) with 10" handle
  • HS57 - 1" (25mm) with 10" handle
  • HS42 - 1 1/4" (32mm) with 11.5" handle

The tool has a Henry Taylor Diamic brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
