Hamlet Craft Tools Long & Strong Detail Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools Long & Strong Detail Gouge is designed for very fine point work. The shallow flute and heavy cross section makes it more stable and easier to control. It is particularly helpful when the tool is projecting some distance from the tool rest, as for example in multi axis turning. 

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Long & Strong Detail Gouge is available in the below sizes:

• HCT153 - 3/8" (10mm) with 10" handle
• HCT154 - 1/2" (13mm) with 10" handle

The tool has a Hamlet brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
