Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas Bottom Finishing Bowl Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas Bottom Finishing Bowl Gouge was designed to Glenn's specifications and sharpened with one purpose in mind; the fine finishing cuts on the bottom interior of a bowl, to give a clean polished finish. The square-end profile with double bevel grind produces an exceptionally clean cut with little or no tear-out and the short 4" flute gives added strength and extra reach over the tool rest. It also has a masterflute parabolic profile (the only flute profile on the Glenn Lucas gouges) for easier sharpening and improved chip clearance.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Glenn Lucas Bottom Finishing Bowl Gouge is available in the below sizes:

• GL6 - 1/2" (13mm) with 16" handle - 5/8" Bar Stock

The tool has a Hamlet Glenn Lucas brand stained beech handle and features a solid brass ferrule.
