German Spindle Gouge

The Hamlet Craft Tools Continental Spindle Gouge is of European origin, and is used for detailed shaping between centres on parallel grain, particularly for concave curves. The gouge is evenly walled for fine spindle work, giving superb handling qualities

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment to deliver the design and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Hamlet Craft Tools Continental Spindle Gouge is available in the below sizes:

  • HCT079 - 1/2" (13mm) with 10" handle
  • HCT080 - 3/4" (20mm) with 10" handle

The tool has a Hamlet brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
