Oval Skew Chisel

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Oval Skew Chisel is used in spindle turning, as well as for cleaning up end grain and vee cuts. The oval section skew is easier to use than most other types of skew chisel as it offers enhanced sensitivity and precise handling, improved stability on the tool rest and less chance of ‘dig-ins’.  

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Oval Skew Chisel is available in the below sizes:

  • HS60 - 1/2" (13mm) with 10" handle
  • HS61 - 3/4" (20mm) with 10" handle
  • HS62 - 1" (25mm) with 10" handle

The tool has a Henry Taylor Diamic brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
