Long & Strong Bowl Gouge

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Long & Strong Bowl Gouge is the traditional Diamic bowl gouge, with a ‘U’ shaped flute. It remains a popular choice among many woodturners today.

This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.

The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.

The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Long & Strong Bowl Gouge is available in the below sizes:

  • HS39 - 1/4" (6mm) with 11.5" handle - 3/8" Bar Stock
  • HS39A - 1/4" (6mm) Fingernail Grind with 11.5" handle - 3/8" Bar Stock
  • HS40 - 3/8" (10mm) with 14" handle - 1/2" Bar Stock
  • HS40A - 3/8" (10mm) Fingernail Grind with 14" handle - 1/2" Bar Stock
  • HS55 - 1/2" (13mm) with 16" handle - 5/8" Bar Stock
  • HS55A - 1/2" (13mm) Fingernail Grind with 16" handle - 5/8" Bar Stock

The tool has a Henry Taylor Diamic brand stained beech handle and is finished with a brass ferrule.
