The Diamic by Henry Taylor Tools Jason Breach Special Oval Skew is used to create clean, crisp recesses. It is supplied without a handle, and it is meant to be used in this way, as Jason found that, for the precision fitting of box lids, a handle just got in the way, The blade has a flat ground edge on the longer side for stability on the tool rest during paring cuts; and features asymmetric bevels.
This fine turning tool, featuring a High Speed Steel blade, combines traditional handcrafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to deliver the design, finish, and edge retention properties demanded by woodturners of today.
The blade is carefully forged, hardened and tempered, and then hardness tested to guarantee edge retention.
